History

Aurora's Engineering College was established by Aurora Educational Society in the year 1998. Aurora Educational Society was founded by Dr. Ramesh B Nimmatoori and Shri N Raja Babu in the year 1989 and has more than 25 years of service in educational sector. The society presently has eight engineering colleges, two design institutes, five PG colleges, a business school, a degree college, three polytechnic colleges, two junior colleges, a law college, and a B.Ed college, and is one among the largest educational groups in the state of Telangana. Aurora's Engineering College | Tilak Road, Abids, Hyderabad is the flagship engineering college under the group and has reached the stature of being the best engineering college in Nalgonda District and is also among the top engineering colleges in the state of Telangana.

Aurora, the name of the college is derived from Aurora Borealis, the celestial northern lights. The name symbolises the Indian and western traditions of representing the Sun God which is a symbol of knowledge and power. The logo is in the shape of an Egyptian pyramid representing the letter A and also symbolises the spirit of the college which is temple of learning.

The college offers B.Tech programmes in all the major disciplines including Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The total intake in B.Tech, which started with a modest 240 students in 1998, has now reached 900 students in all the disciplines. Right from the inception of the college, in the B.Tech programme alone, 14 batches of students have passed out till date producing more than 6000 engineering graduates who are not only excellent technical professionals but also excellent human beings who are worthy citizens and valuable human resource of the nation.
