OverviewIn the Aurora's Engineering College, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has been in existence since its inception in 1998 and produced 7 batches of undergraduates, each batch consisting of sixty students. The department is the alma-mater of many graduates settled in respectable high positions at home and abroad.
As a result of the excellent teaching methodology adopted by a highly dedicated and committed team of 37 faculty members in producing exceptional caliber graduates during the past, the AICTE has permitted for increase in intake from 60 to 120 at undergraduate level from 2003 onwards. In addition to undergraduate course, the department has opened up admissions for postgraduate courses viz., VLSI system design from 2004 and communication systems from 2006 for an annual intake of 25. In addition the department has started offering PG course in Embedded Systems from 2007. At present the department has highly qualified senior faculty which includes, three Professors, nine Assistant Professors, six senior lectures, 19 Lecturers. Apart from it the department takes the services of seven Laboratory Assistants and 1 Data Entry Operators. The department is recognized by dedicated teachers, devoted students, committed supporting staff and expert technical staff. LabsELECTRONIC DEVICES LABORATORY: This Laboratory is specifically meant for I year students of under graduate course, deals with the experiments on Electronics Devices and Circuits. Every bench is equipped with a dual trace oscilloscope, dual Power Supply and a signal generator.
The experiments on Analog ICs, like Operational Amplifiers, Timers, and Phase lock loops etc., and their applications are being studied. Here also, every bench is equipped with a dual trace oscilloscope, dual Power Supply and a signal generator.
The experiments based on Logic and Digital circuits are performed using IC trainers and component development systems are provided on every table
To perform Assembly Language Program on 8086 Microprocessors and 8051 Micro controllers by connecting different interfaces.
ECE â Computer Centre This center has high-end server connected with 36 nodes of P-IV systems to meet the current trends in the field of Microprocessor and microcontroller related experiments. This Laboratory caters the need of following courses namely

RESEARCH CENTRESA. CENTRE FOR VLSI DESIGN: Research work is being carried out in the centre by the team of four qualified senior faculty members towards the development of minituriasation of Electronic Circuits to meet the state of art technology compatible to the applications like Military, domestic, Industry requirements, etc. The centre mainly concentrates on the software development and hardware implementation of the same to meet the latest technological challenges. The centre calls for conferences, seminars and conducts workshops by expert contempories frequently from various industries. The centre is run by the following faculty of ECE Department 1. Dr. Prabhu G Benakop Director 2. Mr. V Kumaraswamy Research Assistant 3. Mr. K. Chandra Sekhar Research Assistant 4. Ms. T Sireesha Research Assistant
B. CENTRE FOR ADVANCED COMMUNICATIONS: Having established in 2002, the centre is heading towards the development of micro strips for mobile applications. Other areas of interest on which the centre concentrates are the design and analysis of smart antennas, feasibility of optical fibres for long distance communications, microwave applications for industries and pharmaceuticals, to mention a few. During the past three years about five work shops have been conducted in the college premises attended by many contemporarory dignities. Many seminars and conferences have been conducted on the aegis of the centre on campus. The centre presently is concentrating on the design of smart micro strip antennas for domestic and cellular mobile communication systems. The centre is run by the following faculty of ECE Department. 1. Prof. RS Sarma Director 2. Prof. K.V.Srinivasa Rao Research Assistant 2. Mr. Y. Raghavendra Rao Research Assistant 3. Mr. IVS Rama Sastry Research Assistant
