Strategic Plan

T he institute has strategic plans for the institute aligned with the vision and mission of the institute. The key points figuring in the plans touch the following aspects emanating from the vision and mission

To start PG programs in all branches.

This will help in improving the academic standards and also induce students to pursue higher education.

The institute is running P.G. programmes in some disciplines and has run a few more programmes in the past. The institute will continuously update itself with developments taking place around us in the ecosystem and introduce new P.G. programmes most suited to societal and Industry needs. It should also actively consider closing old P.G. programmes which evince lukewarm response from students and those which are likely to face obsolescence.

Building a harmonious work culture and motivating everybody to contribute their best.

For human resources to give their best, a healthy, conducive and enabling environment is highly desirable. The institute would continuously evolve codes of conduct, ethics and practices that would reinforce this aspect while keeping the vision and mission in view.

The operational manual introduced in 2004 and modified in 2009, would be periodically updated in tune with the times.

Establishing vital Research & Development facility.

The importance of research and development in a higher educational institute cannot be over-emphasised. The institute already has rudimentary research and development facilities in the areas of Computer sciences, Communication Engineering, electronics and Mechanical engineering. It would build upon them to create an R&D environment, and enhance R&D activity. Faculty members would be encouraged to carry out research in-house to promote this activity.

This will be a slow but steady process. Research facilities will be built around the actual interest of qualified and enthusiastic faculty so as to maximise the benefits of investing in research. Encouragement will be given to applied research which can lead to patents, consultancy in addition to technical publications.

Well qualified, /meritorious and motivated faculty is essential for research environment. We already have an excellent faculty recruitment procedure in place due to which we have acquired a reputation in quality of teaching and pursuit oh higher knowledge. Thus, possibilities to improve the research environment are strong.

Providing excellent infrastructure and creating conducive learning environment.

The institute aims to continuously strive to improve both academic infra-structure and other physical infra-structure. The institute aims to provide ITC facilities to each class room thereby improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the teaching-learning process.

Student centric approach in teaching and learning.

The teaching- Learning process is vital for an institute of higher education like ours. It would make continuous efforts to impart the best possible training to students through student- centric methods of education including flexible Library hours, choice in credit system, and making available supporting educational materials available etc. Towards this end, some innovative steps would be taken to improve the effectiveness of teaching learning process. Novel educational methods, being implemented currently in renowned institutes, to be followed in the institute as well.

Create Facilities for Overall Personality Development of Students

It is seen that students experience a shortage of / lack of facilities / environment to develop and express talents / creative abilities which enrich their personality development. The college would strive to create facilities and encourage students to develop their talents through participation.

To achieve excellence in technical knowledge generation.

This is an attribute closely related to research and development and improvement in academic achievements of students. An added emphasis is needed to improve the academic performance of students in examinations, projects and in competitive examinations.

To be recognized as one of best technical institutes in Telangana State.

Towards this end, many initiatives are needed. Some of the plausible points that are proposed to be pursued are given below.

1. Sustained efforts will be made to improve the teaching learning process, arrange motivational lectures to young students and increase technical interaction with other reputed institutions of learning and Industry.

It is the quality of students in an institute that primarily determines its standard and status. It is highly desirable to improve the standard of students studying in the institute. It has been noticed that one of the challenges faced by technical institutes is the rather low motivational levels of incumbent students which is the biggest impediment to higher educational standards. Students need to be mentored and inspired to become assets for the society by trying to excel in their pursuit of knowledge. This is possible by exposing the inducted students to great achievers, motivational speakers, revered spiritual people and saints. The institute should aims to work on substantial enhancement of this activity which will ultimately lead to overall improvement in all aspects.

2. Permanent Affiliation & Autonomous status from the University

To obtain accreditation from NAAC, NBA, ISO 9001:2008 Standards and striving continuously to improve the quality of operations of the Institution. For an institute to survive in the long run and weather storms created by dynamic changes in the environment, it is desirable to get permanent affiliation / Autonomous status from the University and accreditation from accreditation agencies like NAAC and NBA, ISO. These would also improve the academic and administrative standard of the institute. Moreover, research grants from national level agencies, and placement potential would also go up. Therefore strong emphasis on getting accredited is made.

These would need systematic improvements accompanied by proper documentation.

In view of the foregoing points, the following plan of action for the period 2016-21 is recommended.

  • Publication of at least one research paper by faculty in National / International Journals.
  • Participation in at least one National / International Conference / Seminar by faculty.
  • To organize one faculty development programme in the institute every year.
  • To conduct students creative events (2 per year) bringing out their talents by 2016-17
  • Placement target for 80 % of B. Tech
  • To have 30 % of faculty with Ph. D. Degree
  • To provide incubation centre for developing entrepreneurship.
  • Improving the percentage of students passing with First Class / Distinction to 80 %
  • Achieving ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC in 2017-18
  • Securing 3 year accreditation from NBA by 2019-20
  • To revise the operations manual in 2017-18
  • To start an incubation cell in the college by 2018-19.
  • Improvement of quality of student projects:
